Velsia 5 automatic bird feeder
Velsia 5 has a volume of approx. 5l

We have changed the bird feeders by adding holes to the side to help birds to get to the seeds. If too many seeds fall out, you can adjust the holes using duct tape.

The cover and base of the automatic bird feeder are available as spare parts from Leomuovi’s online store.
PLEASE NOTE! You can attach the automatic bird feeder to a post by removing the screws in the base (the old model had rivets). Screw the base to the post using a couple of screws and then replace the tube, and the post model is ready.
Feeding instructions
The automatic bird feeder should be cleaned regularly (2-3 times per year) and disinfected as necessary. Use gloves when cleaning the bird feeder.
Begin to feed birds over the winter when the ground freezes or is covered by snow.
Winter feeding should be continued until the ground thaws and the snow melts.
Fill the bird feeder, preferably with hulled sunflower seeds.
Sunflower seeds in their shells can also be used, but in this case you will need to clear the husks away regularly. The husks may attract rats and moles to the feeding area
The feeding plate does not need to be full of seeds; the idea is that the birds peck the seeds from the feeding holes.
It’s a good idea to place several automatic bird feeders in the same feeding area to prevent birds from fighting unnecessarily and to make sure that they all get enough food.
Place the automatic bird feeder in such a way that squirrels cannot access it from a tree branch or tree trunk.
Use gloves whenever handling bird food or refilling the bird feeder with seeds.
For weekly refills, a smaller automatic bird feeder (Velsia 5 litre) is sufficient
Our small models (Velsia 1 and 2) are meant for use near buildings so that it is nice to watch the birds feed.
The large automatic bird feeder (Velsia 25) is also excellent for feeding fowl in the forest.
If you visit the feeding place rarely, please use the large (Velsia 25-litre) automatic bird feeder or several smaller bird feeders.
